Job description
To lead the technical activities in Business Unit Smart Systems (BU SSY), we are looking for a motivated, dynamic, and hands-on Technical Manager.
You will be working with the BU Manager to take the team to the next level and to shape the SSY product and technology roadmaps.
An eye for detail is important, and so is the capability to establish state- of-the-art design and verification methodologies as well as modern project management techniques.
Responsibilities:
- In charge of all the BU\'s projects and products as a technical manager
- Leading the product development team and mentoring junior team members
- Definition of product and technology roadmaps, including innovation management and technical benchmarking vs competition
- Concept feasibility studies, technical risk management and specification management
- Making sure the products fulfil specifications. This involves overseeing all design, layout, verification, validation, qualification, testing and production ramp-up activities
- Being the BU main technical interface for products in mass production
- Representing technically the BU together with the BU Manager in front of the EM Management, at customer visits and trade shows
- Assessing from technical standpoint the quality and capabilities of external suppliers
- Interacting with Sales teams, providing the required information and documentation to accompany products in the market
Profile
- Master degree or PhD in Electrical Engineering or another relevant discipline
- Track record in leading IC design teams from product definition to volume production, delivering on-schedule and first-time-right silicon
- Positive attitude and passion for owning products and projects at technical level, and for driving technical interactions with EM Operations and suppliers
- Experience working in international, multi-site, and multi- disciplinary teams
- Great team worker and networker, especially with the Technical Leaders of other BUs
- Ability to stimulate a creative and problem-solving mindset in the team
- Ability to influence people and to make things happen, with and without direct reporting lines
- Willingness to travel up to 10% of the time
Professional requirements
- At least 10 years of professional experience, including Integrated Circuit (IC) design and technical team leading in the field of mixed-signal ICs and SoC
- Must have: background in ultra-low-power, analog/RF, mixed- signal and digital IC design
- Strongly desired: experience in product or industrialization engineering
- Advantage: knowledge of microcontrollers, embedded software, PCB/system design, application engineering, and Automated Test Equipment (ATE)
