Summary

Integral member of EMUS Sales team to provide technical application support for all of EM’s products with a primary focus on BLE design-in activities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist customers with the design-in of EM ICs into their products
  • Provide customers with product application & design support, design tools, demo/evaluation kits, application notes and product seminars
  • Gain thorough understanding of the customer’s application and product architecture and provide customers with in-depth design assistance through collaboration with the BU technical staff
  • Work with the US Sales team in pre-sales activities to help penetrate major customers and develop new ones
  • Understand the competitive landscape and continuously work on differentiating EM’s solutions
  • Manage multiple projects and follow up on various tasks to ensure timely support and execution
  • Ensure clear and accurate external and internal reporting and communication
  • Support tradeshows and participation in industry events to promote EM products

Key Job Responsibilities:

  • Application Firmware Development: Embedded software development and verification, develop application notes, Setup application-level test cases, Investigate, troubleshoot and report technical issues
  • Customer Technical Support: Support: EM SDKs (BLE SoC and others MCU based product lines)., Review customer code and participate to workshop and training from EM, Contribution to emDeveloper forum as technical staff member.
  • Project Management and Reporting: Act as the PM on design-in activities with customers, contribute to BU R&D roadmap, weekly/monthly/quarterly reports as required.
  • Preferred additional experience: Knowledge of Bluetooth Low Energy technology including BLE Beacons, Energy Harvesting, RFID or mixed signal ASIC designs. Experience with embedded firmware for battery powered applications highly preferred.

Minimum of 35% travel to customer sites, tradeshows or parent company required. 

Profile

Education:

BSEE/BSCE/BSCS from established university or BS in Engineering with relevant experience in Embedded SW or MS – EE/CE/CS with advanced course work preferred.

  • Software development language: C/C++, Assembly, Python
  • Knowledge about RTOS or equivalent real-time task scheduler
  • Write application code to test drivers development (radio, USB, SPI, I2C, UART, Timers, RTC…)

Professional requirements

  • 10 years in hardware, firmware, product development and actual FAE applications engineering.
  • Wireless embedded software platform for semiconductor industry deploying SoC, IoT, MCU, ASIC platforms and solutions / Application support.
  • Self-motivated team player with semiconductor application engineering experience.
  • Ability to understand the customer’s application and apply your knowledge of EM products to help the customer successfully integrate EM products in their designs.
  • Effective presenter and communicator, good listener with the ability to ask questions, and record accurate meeting notes
